<description>February 12, 2010

Highway Robbery in Sinaloa

This warden message alerts American residents and travelers to road-side robberies along roads (both toll roads and &quot;libre&quot; (free) roads) in Sinaloa involving the theft at gun point of vehicles, money, jewelry and other items of value. While such crimes can happen at any time or location, these types of robberies predominately occur at night (between dusk and dawn). There have been reports of violent physical and sexual assaults connected with these crimes. It does not appear that these criminals are specifically targeting American cars or American citizens. The best defense against this type of assault is to DRIVE ONLY DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.
